The only normal thing is how often this happens at a number of schools year after year. There will be some relief this week and then once the high temps stick around, these schools will still be hot.

Our HS has A/C turned on for at least 3 weeks now. My kid said she’s freezing in her classroom (ES).

The contract says if your room is above a certain temperature you can request an alternative teaching space. Have you done that yet?

The county really needs to make sure air conditioning is working before mid April now. Waiting till May makes little sense especially with how unreliable the systems are.

Of all the schools I've been in, Magruder is one of the worst in terms of A/C. There are too many schools like this and not enough HVAC experts around.

I once taught in a school with windows that were sealed shut and AC that only worked periodically. My principal was mad when I directed parents to her with complaints because their kids were sitting in 105 degree temps. Yep. For real. Different area of the country, but I can relate. We'd all be in the room with sweat pouring down our faces.

Ours takes many workers many days to turn on and adjust. It isn’t just a switch you flip. It often breaks shortly after turning it on so then they come back for a few more days. My room has no windows and there are many days it is above 85 degrees. Good times.

Our W school has rooms freezing and rooms boiling - the kids dress in layers every day, because they always have some hot rooms and some cold rooms, no just right rooms

Principal just sent a letter out saying it should be repaired mid-week. Cooler weather expected. Still not great for testing.
