The Tempest as in Shakespeare?

The House in the Cerulean Sea and the sequel Somewhere Beyond the Sea are both on my read soon shelf, glad you liked it!

Yes, as in Shakespeare! Just the Duke’s Classics Libby version, no annotations. My reading journey this year has serendipitously included The Wager and Moby Dick, with Shogun up next (and Endurance planned for later on), so another story featuring stormy seas seemed appropriate (plus I read Tomorrow & Tomorrow & Tomorrow for book club). I may end up reading Master & Commander by the end of the year…

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry. Just started it last week, not far in but am enjoying it! Typically it takes me awhile to get into a book.

Not new, but Ina Garten's autobiography.

Quick, easy, light read. Which I sort of need these days.

I recommend the house in the cerulean sea to you

I have been on a personal finance journey for the past 2 years, and I’m currently reading the Psychology of Money. I like it so far.

I just finished Mary Kubica’s “she’s not sorry” - I really liked it. Totally light suspense thriller, but kept me turning the pages. I just ordered another one from her, hoping it is as good.

Great book! I also didn’t know until after I finished it that Martha Ballard was a real woman and the author used her diaries in crafting the story.

The Usual Desire to Kill after seeing a NY Times book review about it - about a daughter's relationship with her frustrating elderly parents (I bought it while I was visiting my frustrating elderly parents, who I love so much): https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/01/books/review/the-usual-desire-to-kill-camilla-barnes.html

I'm enjoying it but not loving it yet. It might be I am just too tired to give it proper attention. About 1/4 through.

I've got a whole bunch of good sounding books to get into after this - and probably instead of reading any of them I'll get some trash off Kindle Unlimited and hate it!

I’m reading an ARC of “Black Woods, Blue Sky” by Eowyn Ivey. It’s also about Alaska, like her other stories, and I’m enjoying it so far.
