Aviary surprisingly fun. The VR flying experience was amazing.

My kid would not have gotten much out of the Mattress Factory at 5, but loved it at 16! Randyland, right down the street, is perfect for a 5 year old.

Agree on the Aviary. That was mostly 5 year olds, but my teens loved it, too.

If your schedule lines up with a Gateway Clipper Cruise and nice weather, that can be relaxing.

We went on a cruise that had a magic show a few years ago. It was a pleasant afternoon. We needed to combine a senior, along with other adults, and pur nuclear family. It was fun for all.

The children's museum is great and the Phipps Conservatory has a really nice children's area both indoor and outdoor. And of course go up the incline and get ice cream or a snack up top. Also if you can catch a baseball game, it's one of the best stadiums in the country, IMO.

Take a ride on the incline. My kids loved it.

We did the penguin encounter at the National Aviary, which you have to be 6 for, but I just saw they've since added a Jr. penguin encounter that the 5 year old could do. It's fun if your kid won't be scared.

Thanks! I’ll look. We are going to a pirates game and I’m thinking the aviary. Going with friends who don’t have a kid, so probably not the children’s museum sadly.

Children's Museum (take a bathing suit/towel/change of clothes for the waterplay section, I don't remember if you have to wear a shirt over the bathing suit or not, but it was much wetter in there than in other children's museums, there was part where it "rained") and the National Aviary.
