For luxury Africa, that actually is very cheap.

We used Ker and Downey for South Africa and they were excellent. Stayed in Londolozi and Royal Malewane. Both different and amazing!

We used Mary Keet at Go2Africa. I think I found her on the Conde Nast list. She's great and the safari she set up for us in Tanzania was perfect. We stayed at Asilia lodges. 10/10, highly recommend both Mary and Asilia. I'll add that we stayed at the Arusha Coffee Lodge the day we got into Africa and I'm so glad we did -- it was good to rest and relax a bit after the very long travel from the states before heading out into the bush.

We stayed at Mala Mala in South Africa. It was pretty luxurious - real rooms rather than tents, great food, game drives just with your group, they did your laundry daily, etc.
