Subject: PSA: If you left the pots, pans, and kitchen knives, YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE DISHES.
My DH doesn’t wash the “weird” stuff like cheese graters or water bottle lids and will do everything else and leave those at the bottom of the sink like I won’t notice.
He also doesn’t put away “weird” stuff- like anything that he doesn’t interact with daily. We’ve lived with the same kitchen for 12 years but he’s acts like it’s a confusing Airbnb that he’s never cooked in. The funny part is that he truly thinks I don’t notice. How can a man who runs a bajillion dollar P&L be so dumb?

+1 We got a house with a dishwasher, then we started putting everything in the dishwasher. This was a huge percentage of our fight topics when we first started living together and then got married.

He freaks out and claims that what I'm doing is not *really* doing the dishes because I'm neglecting to put away like two knives and cutting board first. I disagree.
Sometimes people are weird about this stuff.
I agree with OP (though I am more likely to be the offending party than my DH, haha) but your DH is insane

If you’re the person in the couple that never does the cooking and can barely boil water, please take note. You cannot claim to have finished doing the dishes if you left ALL THE POTS, PANS, and KITCHEN KNIVES strewn all over the counter. The fact that you finally picked up all fifteen of the effin glasses you left all over the GD house does not entitle you to a medal, and truthfully, does not count towards “cleaning up after dinner” Just effing clean them!!!!! Especially since you know that we don’t have the space in our kitchen to buy duplicate pasta pots etc bc you just cahnt. JUST WASH THEM!!!!!!!!
