This is common. At my school a senior class released 3, but put the numbers 1, 2 and 4 on them.

This was minor in the scheme of things but the sound effects were hysterical. NCS, mid-90s — pre-cellphone, when everyone had alarm clocks. We all brought them in and set them to go off at the same time in the afternoon - I forget when exactly; not right at the end of the day, maybe 2 or 2:30ish? Most were a variety of beeps or buzzes or chimes or whatever, but some people had gimmicky ones like a cow that mooed. There was a chicken that used words - “cluck cluck, time to get up! Cluck cluck, time to get up!” over and over and over. Some stopped after a few minutes but some went for a long time. And the bulk of our lockers were outside the office of a particularly uptight teacher. Ms Eliot was SO MAD. 😂😂

In my school we brought goats into the gym (this was in a big city - the goats were delivered by a farmer, still not sure how they did that!)
We also painted one of the outdoor buildings bright red

Students at MIT one year assembled a replica (fake but realistic) police car on the roof of their great domed building.

After hearing about the recent GDS senior prank email, I'm curious to hear about other pranks that were done by students at their schools over the years. Doesn't have to be limited to senior students, just any prank that was either clever or memorable. Not counting vandalism or other acts which crossed a line (whether legal, ethical, etc).
