But we are at a Title 1 school where a lot of the kids don't have parents who have the time or ability to do something like that anyway. The teachers attracted to our school know going in that they might be doing things that would be run by a PTO at a wealthier school and are okay with that (in fact it's usually part of what draws them to the school). Also the school's Title 1 status helps them obtain extra funds to pay teachers for after school activities like talent show rehearsals, and also to help sponsor events like that (not necessarily Title 1 money, but they often get grants and donations from non profit orgs or businesses specifically because they are Title 1 so the money is guaranteed to help a high percentage of at risk/FARMs kids).

Are most talent shows held at DCPS Elementary schools planned by the school or by the PTA/PTO/parent volunteer/Booster club etic?
