We were going to miss the flight, I thought, because he didn’t have an ID or even a credit card or any id of any kind. But we had his boarding pass on my phone.
The TSA agent had to phone someone at an outside place to log the issue and made him answer some questions about himself and me (without me next to him) who was traveling with him and had ID. They also did a full opening and inspection of his bag. But I couldn’t believe it they let him on the plane without any kind of ID.
This is the standard procedure. The questions they ask are the types you do online with a credit agency to verify you are who you say you are "what street is associated with a previous address?", etc
