One sink

What is the width of your countertop OP?

This if they are picky and territorial.

Main thing is to have plenty of cabinet space underneath or else you will need to add a vanity shelf in addition to any over the sink.

Don't encourage clutter on the countertop, that's a bad behavior and looks tacky. Sink countertop should remain clean and clutter free.

I have two pre-teen daughters and they have one sink and a large counter. We thought about replacing it with two sinks, but there would not be any counter space at all, and I was worried they'd try to put things on top of the toilet and then drop things in the toilet so we kept one sink and lots of counter space. This also gave us space for drawers, so it also means more storage..

I have double sinks and two boys and they are never, ever in there at the same time. The only benefit is the assigned sinks make it clear who is clean and tidy and who is not.

Double sinks with plenty of storage either in the vanity or attached to the wall

exactly. teeth brushing (2 mins) shouldn't be given 2 full sink's worth of counter space when there's so much makeup and hair fussing in your future.

my threes kids have never used the same bathroom at the same time. Girls might but it would be with products (makeup, hair styling tool, etc). They're never brushing their teeth or washing hands at the same time. One sink, maximize counter space (and mirror)

I would definitely do one sink.

But that's because I don't get the double sinks and I never will. More to clean, less counter space. What is the upside?

Double sinks definitely if you have a wide enough counter. Have drawers and cabinets underneath to hold the toiletries and supplies.

More countertop space. Doing hair and makeup takes longer and requires more space than brushing teeth.

Redoing my kids bathroom. Currently there’s double sinks but not much countertop space. There’s 3 kids for the bathroom and currently they’re all little and basically use the same sink while brushing their teeth.

Will I want double sinks in the future as my kids get bigger or would one sink and more countertop space be more useful? Two of my kids are girls and there’s already a lot of hair products and hair brushes everywhere- I’m sure teen girls will have a lot more.

The bathroom isn’t small but there no room for a larger vanity or to move the vanity elsewhere.
