please dont use trex or composite. i am planning to tear down my brand new deck because it get horribly slippery in cold and rainy days, and horribly hot in hot days. It is not good or comfortable. Please go with wood and stain it.

Bummer to hear this. We have a wood deck and every 18 months it requires cleaning and restaining at about $1200. Plus, over time we need boards replaced. The ongoing maintenance costs are a bear. We like wood but it’s a bit of a hassle.

Trex is American based using American sourced recycled materials. Tariffs don't affect it.
