I got this letter too. It’s particularly frustrating because they had access to our drivers licenses as well as other information needed in purchasing a car.

I had to research this a little. The breach occured on Feb 4 2024 but Fitz had no idea the criminals were in their systems until 3/28/25. So for more than a year attackers had access to customer info.

What Happened?
On or about February 4, 2024, Fitzgerald Auto Malls detected unauthorized access to our network as a result of a cybersecurity incident that resulted in the exposure of the data we maintain.
What We Are Doing.
Upon learning of the incident, we immediately took steps to secure our network and mitigate against any additional harm. We promptly launched an investigation assisted by external cybersecurity professionals experienced in handling these types of incidents. Our forensic investigation determined that data may have been accessed or acquired by the unauthorized party. We conducted a thorough manual review of the data potentially contained on the impacted servers. After extensive efforts to identify, review, and analyze the potentially impacted data, on March 28, 2025, we determined that the impacted files contained your personal information.

Last night an email was received from Fitzgerald Auto Malls informing me of a data breach that happened almost 15 months ago. "Immediately taking steps" didn't include informing affected customers until well over a year later. Also, it's very disappointing that Fitzgerald Auto Malls isn't offering crediting monitoring, which seems to be the norm with these all-too-common data breaches. Basically, Fitzgerald Auto Malls is telling its customers that we're on our own.
