You mentioned his Winter iReady scores were a lot better compared to his scores last year. Did you mean compared to his fall third grade scores? The fall third grade scores would be the ones that were included in the packet. Also, have you seen the packet that was submitted by the AART? If not, you should request to see that before you appeal.

Try to explain in a polite letter why your child needs AAP, perhaps with some annotated work samples that could help to overcome any deficiencies in the previous HOPE, or else an explanation in your letter.
