Make sure you’re not going on a Navy football weekend. Among parents weekends, reunion weekends (which they spread out over the season), and Air Force weekend (is that at home this year?), demand for hotels are high.

Also, avoid the fall sailboat show weekend.

Unless you’re trying to target one of those weekends, in which case your expectations are unrealistic.

The Westin seems a little too fancy for the OP. It's around $1750 for 4 nights in Sept.

It's a Bronze-level Bike Friendly Community, so while not perfect, it is still pretty good for biking around.

None of the hotels that are in the downtown core are going to be at the price point you are looking for. VRBO/Airbnb is your best bet if you really want to be walkable and are on a budget.

I think we will just have to go the vrbo route. I found a cute little loft apartment in the historic district for $875 total. I was hoping for some sort of inn, but I couldn't find anything.

Find a less expensive destination to go?

Thanks. Unfortunately, the Graduate is too pricy for us. I was hoping to avoid vrbo/airbnb, but I can't seem to find anything close to city center that is less than $1000 total unless I book through those sites. The cheaper hotel chains that I found seem to be farther away in a non-bikeable area. Anyone else have any ideas?

I always like the Graduate (not just in Annapolis, everywhere I've stayed). Years ago we used to stay at the Loews. To be honest it's mostly chain hotels. Just pick one on price near downtown.

I'm looking to book a 4-day weekend in Annapolis next Sept/Oct. Any recommendations for where to stay?
Our wants:
- Clean and comfortable, but relatively inexpensive (we need nothing fancy)
- Close to downtown? Somewhere where it is easy to walk and bike around

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
