I bake salmon lightly so that the edges get done (the way my kids prefer) but the center is underdone (for me and husband). It’s all safe as it is flash frozen across the board these days.

Oh. My. Word. I had no idea. I thought I was the only one suddenly repulsed by certain foods. Is there a name for this?

Is this why older women start eating like birds?

No. If you eat more than a bird you gain weight. It’s lovely.

really. I find the opposite. I think wild salmon tastes like sea water. I like the farm raised because it isn’t fishy at all.

Same but for wild salmon. I was just trying to explain to my husband that I can't eat the salmon he's recently bought at Aldi. It doesn't taste like salmon anymore. Maybe I should try one from Whole Foods?

I still love raw fish sushi, including salmon.

We get Amazon Fresh Mowi salmon from Chile. The 12 oz 2 portion pack. Love it. Not slimy. I cook it crispy skin in a skillet. Pat dry before putting in pan.

OP again, I probably started buying it when I was in my 30s and I’m 52 now. I love Seafood and will drive or order from the ends of the Earth to get really good stuff but for a Tuesday night dinner it’s what I can buy on my way home from work. Is this like a physiological change in me or are they feeding the salmon something that just makes them big and greasy?
I’m starting to think this might be me, I had wagyu at Nakazawa and didn’t really love it, it was like a teaspoon of margarine

Oh my god I have food issues now!

Been buying and eating farm raised salmon for years from Costco, Aldi, fish store and sometimes the grocery store

Over the past few months if I take more than two or three bites I’m just done, no one else in the family has mentioned any changes, preparation has been the same but to me now it just tastes like this pile of oily mush.

Did the salmon change or did I? Has anyone had something like this happen?
