Oof. I hope you've got others in your household who are willing to help.

Yes, I have three others who I've told will be helping.

OK, so that's a different situation. Get a trainer. Make plans to give them separate time 1:1 with you, separate walks, separate meals. You can do this.

What type of dog are they? If they are something like a lab, golden, frenchie, etc., you can easily find a home for a 1 year old puppy and then can set up some regular play dates for them to visit their siblings. Just because you lived with your sibling when you were very young doesn’t mean you Lu need to live with them for the rest of your life. In fact, you probably wouldn’t want to.

Do you know how they were trained to date? If they weren’t crate trained before, this is going to be an extra life at 1. 1 year old dogs are like 13 year old children ….. not nearly as easy to instruct as toddlers.

I currently have non-sibling "elder puppies" right now. One's barely a year old, one's approaching a year and a half. It's madness, and I know what I'm doing. I've raised several dogs, fostered for years, volunteered at multiple shelters/rescues... The logistics alone of taking them out separately, feeding them separately, training them separately... it's a full-time job! I work from home, and my kids are old enough to be somewhat helpful, and it's still almost too much most days.

Split the puppies up, or find someone else who is willing/able to take both. This is a LOT of dog, even for an experienced dog-owner, which you're willing to admit you are not. It's okay to pass them along to someone who is better equipped to handle this much dog.

Have you talked to a veterinarian about this? They may get along well, but at less than a year, I wouldn't assume they're "bonded."

Lots of people prefer to adopt adult dogs. A shelter is not the same as doom.

You're going to get in over your head, OP.

Honestly I think you're probably unfit for a dog let alone lone a puppy, let alone TWO puppies, if you even have to ask this question.

A puppy is not just a cute little dog baby you can cuddle and post on tiktok.

they are siblings.

That generally makes the issues worse, not better, from what I understand.

It is entirely possible to raise sibling puppies together without issue, however, when there are issues, they typically result in the need to rehome one dog. In order to prevent behavioral issues, you will need to ensure that you are viewed as the leader and that both acknowledge that you are in charge as well as designate separate space and time for each puppy so that they learn to interact with the world as individual dogs. Reduce competition as much as possible. Training is the key to making all of this work. If you haven't already, you might consider interviewing professional trainers especially as this will be your first go-round with puppies.

Definitely two different crates. Separate dog beds, different toys, etc.

But they should be separate. At LEAST six months apart. Even that might not be enough.

Two puppies coming to the house. Never had a dog before, yes, I might be nuts.

Does anyone have a list of everything we might need?

Best double leash?
