My kid wet the bed occasionally until 8.
I tried an alarm I got on Amazon. Don’t remember the brand. I agree with the PP that said they’re traumatic.
I think she was 6 when we did it. She rolled over in her sleep and it detached from
Her underwear which then gives the same signal as if it’s wet. Ear piercing high pitched squeal that woke the whole house. Had her in tears.
Only think that worked was time. She was a very deep sleeper.

WTH?? No, they do not. Our pediatrician also says do nothing, they'll grow out of it when they're ready. For some kids that's 4, and for some it's 10.

I’m PP above. We put the alarm on cotton underwear and then put a diaper over it so no changing the sheets. Mom or dad took turns sleeping in the room for the first week or so when it went off every night then tapered off. They couldn’t stop peeing once they started so without a diaper over you have to change the sheets. Also, don’t stick the chord out the leg hole it will make the diaper leak. We had reusable cloth diaper.

We used an alarm when my kids were 4 years old. (2.5 years apart). I wanted to see if it would work so they would be able to go to kinder without a morning shower (or smelling of pee) as they had to get in the bus at super early for school. Oddly, they went from wetting every night to sleeping through without waking after using the alarm for about 4-5 weeks. I have no idea why. It did wake them up at first and then they just started sleeping through. Slept the same amount too ~11 hours. Didn’t wet the bed much after that either a handful of times when sick.

My 9YO son finally grew out of the overnight bedwetting. We downplayed the issue and made sure he wore a ninjama and a sposie every night. I can't imagine you or him will be happy waking up every night dealing with this issue.

I don’t recommend the alarm systems. They are more traumatic than helpful. Have him go to the bathroom right before bedtime and let him use a diaper but make sure when he wakes up he also goes right away to the bathroom. It is very common. He will outgrow it.

I used Therapee (ordered from Amazon) for two kids and it was like a miracle. Several friends used as well. Highly, highly recommend.

If you used one of these (or something similar) to help your 6+ yo with bedwetting - what brand did you use and did you like it? did it work? how long did it take? did you help your kid every time the alarm went off or did you have them get themselves changed and back in bed?
