"The woman with the cart continued to swear at me and complain about me for the next ten minutes, and several people sitting near here were chiming in and agreeing I was stupid and should have known the woman had no choice but to block the bus there and I should have just gone and gotten in at the back door."
This is just soooo DC.

That bus is a clusterf*** especially because it travels east. I mean this in the least racist way possible.

Luckily this isn't Baltimore.

the X2 is the most notorius bus in DC! It was like that 15 years ago. Everytime I read a crazy bus story I don't even need to know the name of the bus cause its always the X2. you gotta laugh about this OP

I had to take it this weekend with my 7 year old (just too far to walk and my Lyft app would not function). It's been a few years since I've been on it but it was, as I had remembered, an absolute horror show. A woman was completely blocking the front of the bus between the driver and all seating with a cart of food. When I asked her to move back so that I and the four people behind me (including a woman with a walker and a man with a large suitcase) could get on the bus, she started swearing at me and calling me names. A nice older woman helped me and my daughter and one of the other people climb over the cart to get to a seat. The other two wound up going and getting on in the back at the driver's suggestion (I also would have done this but we were already on the bus by the time he suggested this). The woman with the cart continued to swear at me and complain about me for the next ten minutes, and several people sitting near here were chiming in and agreeing I was stupid and should have known the woman had no choice but to block the bus there and I should have just gone and gotten in at the back door.
My child and I were the only people who paid a fare onto the bus during our 10 minute ride.
WHY is that bus so much worse than every other bus in the city? It's not even close. We live in a part of the city not well served by metro so we ride the bus a lot. I know to avoid the X2 but there are 4 other lines we ride regularly to get to U Street, Union Station, downtown, and Navy Yard. All are fine. Sure, sometimes there are shenanigans but that's life -- you see that anywhere. The X2 is like the 7th circle of hell. WHY.
