People here are so freaking weird. No one owes you a "venue" for a children's birthday party. What do you think these parties are for???

Not too old but make sure the food is really good and plentiful (for the adults too) or it will come across as a cheap gift grab.

Not too old. The last birthday party I went to for a 7 year old was a playground party.

No, it's not too old, especially not if it's at a 5-12 playground (don't do it at a playground with a lot of toddlers, find one with a big climbing structure, great monkey bars, a big slide, etc.) Keep it a short party and have a lot of food at the end!

7 is a little old unless it's a casual right after school meet at the adjacent playground party

Is 7 years old / second grade too old for a playground birthday party? My child has a late May birthday so in the past we have done a whole class birthday party at the end of the school year that also kind of served as an end of the year party. But we haven’t been invited to any playground birthday parties this year so maybe the kids have aged out?
