The beauty is the only thing that tugs at my heart and reminds me why people long to be part of a community and to be forgiven.

Be grateful for Easter Christians.

A lot of the musicians are non religious. Easter and Christmas are the busy season for musicians. If you want a perform of Handel, they're going to hire a tenor who can sing the role.

Right - a lot of Episcopalians are already non-believers. No one cares.

Including the Bishop herself. She’s totally secular. Hasn’t read the Bible in decades.

So true.

My Episcopal priest makes a point of acknowledging that not everyone in the pews shares the same belief, but welcomes them all. "I'm glad you're here."

Guess it's pretty common. Maybe like seeing a fat person and wondering if they overeat.

Fewer than on Christmas or Easter.

Ever been to a mass at a major European cathedral on those days? There’s the congregation there for the actual service and lots of tourists roaming the aisles.

Why do you wonder, OP?
Do you also wonder at the supposed faithful who aren't living up to their religious creed?

Oh please look at the fake christians in congress with their botox and lying for god's sake bowing down to a fake golden calf....

Indoctrination into a cult is not bringing religion back to the US.

The National Cathedral was beautiful, with the sunlight shining through the stain glass and the choir singing ancient music.

I wonder how many people there were atheists. Maybe some people in the choir? in the pews?
