Interesting. When mine took SAT with essay, and then they discontinued the essay, she couldn't seem to use that score to superscore without the essay, even though the essay has been discontinued. She didn't like the essay score, and her 2nd score w/o was only 10 points less than superscore, so she submitted that.

Situation with the ACT could be totally different, just offering this for reference.

The Core ACT will be available for online national testing only at first, while paper national testing and international testing will remain the “Classic ACT” with science included. In September 2025, all ACT testing, regardless of format or location, will transition to the Core ACT.

He’s re-taking the paper one this summer, still will be the “classic” one.

If you take both versions, the new super score will not include science. But the report will still show science just like writing shows if you ever took that but is not part of the average.

And OP- I meant ti say I don’t really understand how it works if you have both old and new—how the score will get reported…

He’s taking it again at least once this summer.

My son always crushes science on practice test and the one ACt he’s taken. Consistently 34-36. It’s usually the lowest se ton for everyone. He’s an exception.

He needs it for high composite. Math is his lowest—low 30s.

My DD took paper ACT in February and April with science both times. Her science scores are significantly dragging down her composite score. She wants to now take the digital version without science. If she does that, I understand that her English/Reading/Math scores will be combined for a new composite score. I also understand that they can be superscored with her previous paper test English/Reading/Math. The question ACT cannot answer for me is, can she submit the new digital superscore that only includes those three subjects, or the fact that she has science scores on file mean that those will automatically be reported/included in a superscore report? Is the only way to have a report that excludes science entirely if she only submits the new digital score that has not been combines with previous attempts?
