If an athlete has improved and is comfortable with indoor practices and batting cages, maybe BC is a fit. Really need to understand each program. And the athlete’s goals.
One other thing to consider is what happens if your athlete decides to stop playing the sport in college? Will you be able to afford the college without the athletic money?

All of these schools are wonderful. If your family can afford $17K per year, and you can afford to visit them, get on the road -- you have 13 days!
Let your kid decide based on campus fit. All those are above the bar academically for his interests.

Very different places. Depends a lot on area of study and also your finances. The amounts of money you are discussing are more consequential to some people than others.
I would also spend a lot of time with the specific teams at the schools. Your child will be spending a lot of time with these kids so needs to fit into the culture of those specific teams. Which might be somewhat different from the overall school. And which coaching staff do you like the best? Any chance of the coaches changing during their four years?

Wake Forest is strong in both business and health sciences. Unlike BC, has its own medical school and accepts a good number of its undergrad students. Also better weather unless your kid loves winter.

Are your $$$ figures based on sports scholarships? What is the sport?
I would take Wake Forest baseball in a heartbeat...definitely over BC or Colorado. VT is a bit closer.
I think you should understand the alumni groups at these schools and for the sport. Some schools have rabid alumni groups that really go the extra mile to get kids internships and FT jobs...others not so much.
The best school for price here is BC. You don't pick a school for the sport unless you are going to go pro. You pick for the academics and potential.

Cost is based on sports money and merit. Sport will cover around 70% of total cost. Merit was offered for Colorado and VT too.
The schools are so different and kid could see attending any of them so it is hard. Colorado is the prettiest location and has appeal of skiing (but coach mentioned no skiing because of risk of injury).

No to Wake Forest especially if a female. Don't you read?
Best would be Boston College, Colorado, and then VT. Doesn't matter what the sport.
