If he’s a lawyer, I’d first ask him to provide a citation for his assertion. “I can wait while you look that up. As the 9th largest school system, I’m sure it’s codified somewhere. It should be easy to find in their regulations or even through a simple website search.”
He is claiming now that his stepson is not allowed to be assigned homework in the elementary school he attends. As is always the case with this guy, he moves the goalposts when he gets caught being wrong. I told him that's not what he originally claimed and left it at that. I don't have the energy to keep arguing with him but he does this so often that sometimes I just can't help myself.
