I'd also do another retrieval rather than a transfer. The transfer is far less expensive and is also a nothing burger in terms of time off work. It shouldn't be a big deal if you're doing it while at a new job. The egg retrieval requires a lot more doctor visits, so you may as well do it while you're on paid leave.

Can you do all your monitoring before work? At 42 I'd do another retrieval and worst case if you get a job offer delay a month but typically able to do monitoring in am

You can start stims for a new retrieval ASAP. I did a random start and the collection was fine.
Are your embryos PGT-A tested?
If not, then I would definitely do another collection.

I would do another egg retrieval now since that was always your plan and you already have the pre-auth.
I’m on the same BCBS Standard plan. Last year, I was only approved for 1 cycle at a time. It was such a pain having to wait for a new pre-auth each time. This year’s pre-auth, I was approved for 3 cycles right off the bat. Same clinic. I don’t know what was different. I think you should be able to get another pre-auth after switching to your spouse’s insurance, with the caveat that you haven’t hit the $25k limit.

Soon to be laid off federal employee on June 2. I have FEHB BCBS Standard plan, and I know there is a 31 grace period of insurance after the June 2 termination date. I have 2 frozen embryos stored, and would like to get a transfer done while still employed and on health insurance.
Our plan was that, after my insurance is terminated to get onto my partner's plan who is also a federal employee (same exact plan) and hopefully be enrolled in July. I am 42 years old and have had 4 egg retrievals, and was hoping to do at least 1 more egg retrieval even before all this turmoil ensued.
I'm worried now that if I do find a job, and being a new employee, it would be difficult to take time off for the monitoring appointments of egg retrievals. But that's a big "IF". Right now, I'm placed on admin leave and job hunting, and I'm wondering if it's better to try and have another egg retrieval now with my own insurance because an egg retrieval is more costly than the transfer. I keep trying to ask the insurance company if by getting added onto a different policy would I still get another prior authorization approval for IVF in the same calendar year? and realize that these people on the phone are pretty much reading off the pamphlet/brochure but insurance processing goes to a specific department that has the final determination.
It all feels very stressful to be honest, and hopefully I'm coherent here - but I was looking for any advice or insight on anything else to consider?
