These are all things that should simply be our own choices or up to the states. We don’t have to agree on all of these. But forcing others, through federal laws and policy, to follow your beliefs and values is not small government. It’s quite the opposite. The whole “woke” agenda is basically just advocating for small government so that people can make their own choices.
There are other and more appropriate ways to advocate for your beliefs. All of the things I listed above…you are free to speak out for/against. But there are many other ways to do so that are more appropriate and less lazy…
Counsel pregnant teens through your church. Educate them on their non-abortion options.
Recruit new Christians by inviting your neighbors to your church’s ice cream social, for starters.
If your local library has drag queen story hour and you don’t like that, stop going there. Write them a letter or call to express your views.
Don’t go to book stores that carry books that offend you, and let them know what/why you are boycotting.
Open your kid’s backpack and read their teacher’s newsletter to find out what is actually being taught. Have a conversation with your kid. If you have questions about what was taught, set up a meeting with the teacher to discuss.
I could do a whole other thread on rights republicans are taking away (free speech).
I would love to hear from some republicans. Why should any of these things be political? How do you justify it? As a party, have you officially changed your stance on small government? What’s going on here?
The above has been what they truly believed in for a very long time. Small government and fiscal responsibility was the schtick they used to get folks to vote for them. However as social media and 24/7 News cycles became more prevalent it got harder and harder to hide their misdeeds, and so the light shone brighter in their hypocrisy. Then Obama was elected and it became very clear that they didn’t care about the people nearly as much as they claimed.

As a republican, how do you feel about that? Are you good with it, or do you wish your party would go back to their small government stance?

I see plenty of Democrats criticize Biden. I never see MAGAs criticize Trump. Literally incapable.
I do see that moderates who voted for Trump already regret their decision.
Of course Dems criticize Biden NOW. But they promoted him when he was senile, campaigning from his basement in 2020, “running the country,” and winning a fake primary.
Moderate Trump voters may not love all his actions, but most of them are not yearning for “leadership” from the likes of Biden and Harris.
Democrats have not changed anything nor apologized for anything. not school closures, not forced injections, not millions of illegals, not the Weekend at Bernie’s presidency. They’ll be out of power for quite a while.

Yeah, that’s another thing. They are supposed to be all about the blue collar workers. So their leader is the guys who literally lives in a gold-plated tower and was born with a silver spoon in his mouth? I couldn’t find any evidence of him associating with the poor or middle class in any way before politics.
