To be clear, private companies have always been able to use and monetize NOAA data. That's how AccuWeather made its fortune. What this jerk wants to do is preclude NOAA from making "official" forecasts, so the only source of weather forecasts for the US will be private companies. With questionable track records and no continuity. Typical MAGA grift.

I can see it, we end up with weaponized weather reports. Or some state or regional universities try to launch their own public free weather reports but end up getting hacked and shut down by the regime and its goons.
