Maybe a day. Two max. There is no way I would want to spend more time than that deep cleaning.

No, because I could hire someone to do it for less than I would lose in pay. I'm part-time and I don't get any paid time off.

Go for it! I'd love to have the chance to do that myself!

Yes, I absolutely would. A "wasted" week of vacation is worth the mental health of having a clean house. And I cannot really clean when anyone is home.

+1. Not a chance I’m doing this. Deep cleaning =cleaning service.

How does that work when, like op said, she wants to clean out closets?

I mean, nobody does, but the reward makes it worth the effort.

And also if I’m personally doing the deep cleaning, DH better be helping as well.

I want to do this but every time I think of it I am reminded that I don't know how to deep clean!

Yes I would do it but make sure I built in fun things too (spa, shopping, lunches with friends, etc.). You don’t need to clean the whole time!

I think it's a good idea and it is good self care too. Clutter and things that bother us constantly serve to decay our everyday lived lives.

I don't have nearly enough PTO to do that, but if you do, sure. Go for it.

I would do a combination of deep cleaning, then some self care. Can you clean for several hours then book a massage, meet friends for lunch, buy a new book? Sounds great to me.

My DH exclusively works from home, only going in to the office occasionally (finance) but next week he will be going to the office M-Th, and I’m thinking of those days off to really clean my house, go through some closets, etc. My reasoning is that I can blast music and make noise where I otherwise can’t because he’s here working. Part of me thinks this is the best idea ever, the other part thinks it’s a waste of personal time (I have it to burn and also have enough for family stuff.) What do you think?
