Some Baltimore schools as well? Not sure where they draw from.

There are both Quaker and progressive schools that may be good alternatives.

If you're making a list of schools that are philosophically similar, I would think Sheridan, Burke and Field would belong on the list too.

1. "Quality" means different things to different people

2. This is a wild time in admissions in our area; so much unpredictability, due to this administration

3. Schools may have openings for many reasons: gender balance, ability to support different learning styles, ability to meet financial need, change in family circumstances, job transfer or move...

Pieces are still coming together, and there will be change between now and June 1. CLEARLY, this is not good. But there will likely be ample room to absorb among area schools.

Still, VERY sad news for these families, kids, faculty, and staff.

For upper high school grades I think the students will have options. Tends to be a few spots open at even the top schools and schools will definitely understand the tough situation these kids were put in.

Should ask at St Andrews, Bullis, Landon, Holton, Stone Ridge, Good Counsel

I have to imagine that SSFS will be deploying all of their admissions and other networking resources to help place people.

SURELY.

That's one option depending on the student and their particular situation. The idea is to give people as many options as possible

In response to the SSFS closing thread, I can't imagine what those parents are going through, especially those with current juniors. This community could be a really good resource for them. Please comment if you have information about schools that are underenrolled.
