Yes, I have a friend who is Jewish and they're not strict at all particularly with the kids. Someone who is strict will likely raise it. Just ask if there are any dietary restrictions.

This is 100% the answer.

I would ask but the general rule of thumb is that we don’t eat anything made with grains or beans on Passover. So no pasta, rice, crackers, hummus, lentils. Corn is also considered a grain.

Fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat and eggs are fine.

Ask the parents. If they care, they will send snacks and/or you can offer fruit.

+1 we don’t keep it at all. But even if she does, it’s not that hard to work around. So sweet of you to ask and accommodate. For a dinner meal you could have roast chicken, potatoes and vegetables. For lunch you could have an omelette or matzoh ball soup (no noodles). For snacks you can have fruit, nuts, cheese, crudite. You don’t need to buy special Passover food. I personally don’t like matzah but if you are curious to try it, lots of ppl do matzah pizza with sauce and cheese. And matzah crack which is like Christmas crack.

DS asked if a friend could come over to play this week. We are not Jewish but her friend is. How should I handle snacks/meals or what to offer/suggest? Can I buy Passover-friendly items or is it better that she bring her own snacks?
