I like them but I don’t necessarily think they’re any better. Maybe they last a little longer, less likely to crack. I prefer, when available, just refilling a mini of the original product and wish more products came in refillable minis.

TJ Maxx has a huge assortment of these type of things often for very cheap. You should go in person and look if you have time. I use a combination of containers are mastered over the years, including just some sample shampoo bottles. For longer trips sometimes I like to bring things I can throw away when I’m done with them.

The only thing I don’t like about the silicone ones is how heavy they are. If you’re traveling carry-on only, it makes a difference.

These are cute but goodness they are expensive!

I use both, and I do like the silicone much better, mainly because of the squeezability. I also find them a bit easier to fill because the neck is much wider, at least on the ones I have. I don't find them any harder to clean than the hard plastic. But it is really a matter of preference, I can't say that they are objectively worth the extra money.

I think gravity assists the hard plastic bottles as the spout is on the bottom, and they sit on the bottom so the product is right there ready to come out. I use a similar bottle for work and never really have an issue squeezing it because for the reasons listed above, it only requires a light bit of compression.

It’s that you can squeeze them, right? I don’t see how you could use a bottle shaped like that that doesn’t squeeze.

Help! I need to purchase new toiletry bottles for an upcoming trip. I’m purchasing for the whole family so I need quite a few. Give it to me straight: is there actually a benefit to the soft, silicone bottles like this:



versus the hard plastic bottles like this:



that makes them worth the $2 more a bottle?

I’m looking to purchase about 15 of them, so I will spend either $15 for the hard plastic vs $45 for the soft silicone, in total. FWIW, they will be used indefinitely until they break or otherwise need replacing. I’m just trying to ascertain if the silicone is somehow better, and if so, why? Thanks!
