OP here. I accessed the article through Apple News but it doesn’t allow users to gift articles. DCUM rules don’t allow users to cut and paste into posts entire articles due to copyright laws, otherwise I would do it. Hopefully someone who subscribes to the WSJ will gift the article.

…and summarily terminating federal grants is arbitrary and capricious.
…and going after judges, lawyers, law firms and law school legal clinics is an intentional attack on those equipped to defend the rule of law and protect our democracy.
…and the tariffs were a big distraction as well as a tool to game the stock market for his own benefit. (ICYMI: Martha Stewart went to prison for a heckuva lot less.)
When will it end?

Have you read the complete article? Which point, specifically, are you disputing?
PS. Pretty much every economist has said that the way Trump uses tariffs is wrong so this article is by no means “controversial.”

Tariffs are an international political tool. Their use can be arbitrary, but can also be strategic. This is an opinion piece, not news. It is intended to be biased and to influence. Papers often allow for controversial opinion pieces to generate readership and discussion. Disagreement with an opinion piece doesn't mean someone is wrong, only that they have a different opinion.

The WSJ editorial board is once again speaking truth to power. In response to the Trump administration's recent exemption of smartphones and other electronics from tariffs, the board writes:
“Tariffs are advertised in the name of helping American workers, but what do you know? They turn out to favor the powerful and politically connected. That’s the main message of President Trump’s decision to exempt smartphones and assorted electronic goods from his most onerous tariffs.”
The article gets better from there, exposing the various fictions this administration has used to justify its tariff war. Well worth a read.
