Absolutely normal and it started exactly at age 47 for me. I'm taking a nap when possible, go for walks, lift weights a little, and take magnesium before bed to feel better.

It is really person dependent.

A healthy person is not so exhausted at the end of every day that they have what OP describes as "debilitating fatigue".

I have horrible fatigue all day long.

On the one hand I do think it’s normal for some people. Eg I know people with crazy jobs that basically collapse at the end of every day. But it’s not YOUR normal which is why you should take it seriously.

Do you have an oura ring, Fitbit or Apple Watch that can give you an indication of whether you are getting quality sleep? That’s where I’d start in addition to the bloodwork,

I think it's a combination of overly stressed life and age. The thing we could absorb more easily when younger are just not absorbed as well later in life. The feeling of less time to fix things if needed. The reality of what life is vs all the dreams--even when you've made some/many dreams come true.

My guess is you are stressed and depressed. Lack of good sleep only exacerbates. All of which you've said.

I am a 47, woman who is very active. I usually do an hour of intense exercise every day. I work (high stress, desk work) and also take care of my teenager and husband. Lately I have noticed that I get tired very easily. I need to plan so I don't take on too much otherwise I end up with debilitating fatigue. I checked my blood work last year when I had the same problem and my blood work seems all ok. I am going to re-check soon. I also get really lightheaded sometime when I am squatted and stand up quickly. I have been reading about POTS, CFS, and can't figure out whether it is a normal occurrence for my age and I am overdoing or is it more serious. I get more tired when I don't get enough sleep. I was also pretty down with what is happening in the federal workspace. My job has been affected.

I am asking here because doctors dismiss and seem like think all is well.
