Crazy we have to worry about this stuff.
I'm thinking of getting another phone for when I fly or maybe scrubbing my main phone of texts with my friends bemoaning current regime. Never thought we would end up in a police state this fast. My buddy before election said that he thought constitution will make us safe and nothing to worry about, lol!

The government can probably quite easily track users who are using DCUM from government networks. But, for random users, they would have to subpoena the IP address of a user.
The IP address is not enough by itself. A further step of subpoenaing information from the ISP is required. Things get even more complicated if a VPN or proxy is involved.
Basically, if you are using DCUM from a government network, the government probably can find out. For anyone else, you would probably have to make death threats or something to get the interest of the government.

Jeff, I can’t believe I’m asking this but with all the talk of the government monitoring social media, I’m wondering if they can trace a user’s identity on DCUM? Is it feasible they can identify posters by IP addresses using secret tracking software?
