I DNF'ed this one

Also didn’t like it. Totally worthy idea etc etc but wound up abandoning it partway through.

Bumping this because I just started Chain Gang All Stars and it’s feeling like a slog. If I hate the beginning will it be worth it in the end? (I do know the general plot from descriptions of the book).

It wasn’t a standout book to me. I guess some interesting commentary on the prison system.

Has anyone here read Chain Gang All Stars? I just can't get into it but it has received so many accolades.
