The AI detectors aren't reliable. But you can probably tell whether it sounds like your friend or not.

I would probably completely ignore the apology and call her out only if she brings it up in person.

Keep in mind- this is the ONLY thing I’ve approached her about in 10 years so I’m not really one to air my grievances. It was a long time coming for me to even say that with a dozen things she had said or done that had been unkind in the past few months. She gets stressed easily and has a tendency to dump on people she’s close with.

I haven’t responded to her yet btw. The apology is in response to me saying “Hey, be kind, the last few weeks you’ve been talking down to me”

Sounds like the friendship has run its course

If your best friend replied with a long AI generated apology what would you do or say?

My gut feeling is to end the friendship. We have been friends a little over 10 years. I know it’s not rational to end a decade long friendship.

We rarely fight or argue. I think this is the only thing that’s even come up in years. Apology is over her tone towards me last few months. Condescending and patronizing.
