Yeah but it's so disruptive to the kid, socially and academically. When my DD came back to home school, her old friends felt betrayed and already moved on.
Why don't you ask her if she wants to go or not.

People always say you can go back to your old school if you don't like CES and while that's technically true, it's still a pain. Make a good decision and then you don't have to switch.

You can always return to your home school from any magnet/other program.

My DD was invited to attend a CES program next year. We are on the fence, and having such a hard time deciding if it would be a good fit for her. Academically she does well and I do think the programming and emphasis on projects that the CES she would be attending would be wonderful for her learning style. And, the emphasis on social well being and support there, seemed really positive.

She is a super shy kid and has made a few really close friends at her home school. So we hesitate to pull her away from that. Albeit there has been some drama lately, so also it’s hard to choose simply because she has friends at one school.

What happens if we accept and the program just ends up not being a good fit. Can we withdraw? Is there a timeline for doing this…must it happen in the summer before school starts or would we do it during the school year? Just want to make sure if she’s miserable we aren’t completely locked out of returning to our homeschool.
