Trees are the fastest growing investment and can be invested at any stage. There are people that specialize in buying selling forests at any stage to take them to maturity. Though, not all trees are amenable to investing for fast growth (EG Rosewood) and old growth slowdown in growth, so they don't make good investments. Monoculture can also be an issue, growing just oaks for example is problem.

People blame logging on the disappearance of the ivory billed woodpecker, but it was getting its bum kicked by the pileated anyway.

They have to make up for the tariffs on Canadian lumber.

No one to buy the wood soon. No new housing starts or labor costs so high that only the wealthiest can afford it. A deep recession looming so optional things like building that back sunroom, redoing the kitchen, etc. are all back-burnered.
