I think we might be on the same team… or this whole situation is just ridiculous!!
U12 full roaster. Coach started bringing in multiple guest players who will play most of the games, rest of the players getting benched or only plays 15mins. Those playing times should not be going to the guest players who do not come to the practices at U12. Yes, we win with these great guest players. But really?!

Haha sounds to me that those guest players won't be guests for very much longer. The writing is on the wall...it's that time of year!!

But in all honesty, since this is "lowest level" as was said, the coach should just play the team he has and have fun. Either way, your kid isn't owed anything and if you play travel ball this will happen constantly. Coach may just be making a point that the players he has aren't very good.

Well tell us which team so we can avoid it and the coach!

This is that time of year that if your kid is on bubble you should know. If outsider is getting plenty of playing time do not fall for the offers are rolling out routine and wait until its too late. This time of year not too many openings and you dont want to lose opportubities.

You can only have 18 on game day. There could be various reasons as to why they are playing.

That may explain then why some who weren’t injured didn’t play, but also know not all play all games higher up go.

Middle of pack- would probably need to guest 1/2 team to win consistently.

Good way to get your team on the black list for scheduling for the next season. Most leagues have rules against this but coaches like to win.

Who cares? Every coach knows that taking a third or lower team is a developmental job and the team is going to lose most of the time. Its part of the gig.

I would be shopping for a new coach for next year. Esp if I had one of the kids on the bench. That's not a coach with respect and empathy for his players. Everyone should be playing substantial minutes at U12.

At face value, this sounds like a poor decision by the coach. I suspect you are just ranting a little to air some frustration. I know I would be frustrated if this happed to my DD's team.

The only reasons I could think of (and they aren't good reasons) is that your coach is frustrated for some reason and felt the need to bing in, presumably, better players to either a.) help the team get some wins, b.) try to show some of your players how to play certain positions during the game or c.) he is willing to bring in new players to the team as tryout season is almost upon us and he is looking at future team fit.

But regardless of any actual reason, he has to realize (or maybe not) he most likely just upset the whole team by doing this.

Only the coach knows why he's doing what he's doing.
