OP I have tried almost all the brands.

Thinx is the best of the brands.

They are only useful on light days. Or as a back up.

They smell quite a bit if you do not change them out a lot.

They wash well, but on heavy days you are washing them a lot.

Pretty comfortable fit.

But you haven’t tried?these kind of comments are unhelpful.

I use them as backup with my regular underwear and pads/tampons. There is no way they would be able to handle the heavy and unpredictable bleeding I have in peri.

I love mine! I have a heavy period (copper IUD) and they’re great.

I use them as backup for my cup. My period is super heavy. Mine are a no-name Amazon brand. I have some heavy-duty ones, and some thinner ones, that I wear on different days of my period. I can wear just the thinner underwear on the last day of my period.

Yes- work great. I used the Period Company brand. It has an overnight version. These are actually super comfortable:

Yes, I started using them in my 40s. I had never used anything more than a "regular" sized tampon before then. No I bleed through the supers in a couple hours on my heaviest days.

I use them as backup, especially at night, on my heavy days, and then I can use them on their own in the beginning or ending stages of my period. So now I basically only need tampons for 2 full days of my period, which isn't too bad. I've decided I'm too old to switch to a cup. I just don't want to deal with it and I had been using tampons for decades when cups became more common.

I'd love recommendations for brands though. I currently use a no name brand from Amazon but I don't love them. They work but who knows what chemicals are in them and they aren't the most flattering thing in the world.

I use them as backup, they don’t work well enough for me to use as a standalone at all. But with perimenopause I am finding I need backup like I never did before! They do work for me on the final days of my period when flow is super light.

FYI-you can use FSA money to buy them too.

no way I'd trust those for the flooding, not a chance!

I've been using Thinx for years and I love them, mostly because it's a rare cycle that I stain my sheets (and I have a heavy period). TomboyX also makes some with cute prints, and I know there are other brands out there.

I keep seeing ads for period underwear for teens, but is anyone using them in middle age? My period is getting super heavy in perimenopause and I think having something more effective at night would help me. Has anyone tried that?
