She is not particularly interested in continuing the rat race snd much more interested in more friendly somewhat happier place like wash u or Davidson. That said, she’d like to be done with this quickly and I think for her mental health applying ED will be the way to go. I’m just trying to assess what we might be forgoing. Not that I have any expectation that she’ll get one of these rare scholarships but DS very unexpectedly got full BK (yes yes I know not the same) so I’m just wondering if anyone on here has received merit when applying early. And yes I know not to count in it yes we are full pay etc etc. it’s simple wuestion - did anyone applying ED receive merit?
I cannot answer your question about merit and ED, but the two schools you listed struck me, because those were leading contenders for my kid, for precisely your reasons. And she also just wanted to be DONE and know by Christmas where she was going to land, so she did ED with success, and it was the right choice for her. No merit, but her general state of happiness since the ED notification in December has been worth it* (*we are lucky to be able to say that only because we have some generous relatives that allow us not to fret about funding).
