Go with better location. Both crappy. one the place just is and the other gets fking cold (well PA does too but....).

You can't go wrong with either school as a sporty kid majoring in econ. Doors on The Street will be wide open for you either way. I prefer Bucknell because it's a little larger and it's location isn't quite as cold or remote.

I know Colgate a bit better than Bucknell but I know kids at both schools and they love their schools. I agree that they are both similar sporty/greek/play hard but serious academics schools. More similar than different. From a straigh Econ perspective Colgates Econ department is quite a bit more active and better thought of from a RePec perspective; they publish quite a bit more and are cited more often but both are excellent programs.

I would pick based on fit.

Colgate’s town is really small & there isn’t much within a short drive. Bucknell doesn’t feel as isolated.

I agree with the coin toss. I didn't know Bucknell was that much bigger. I agree with PP that that's a nice size. Both great schools, very good in econ.

I have a DD at Bucknell, but we looked at both. Bucknell is about 700 students larger - really a great size for a LAC.
