Is it true that BRYC does not give an offer for a specific team, but just for the academy in general? Talking about U12 and under. If that’s the case, do they give you at least an idea of what team they think your kid would be on before you accept the offer? I can’t imagine accepting an offer not knowing if it would be for the first team or the third.

My DDs team has played BRYC teams in this age group a few times. They seem like they have good coaching and were impressed with their ball movement.

This year, BRYC only had girls and Villarreal and Herndon only boys. Next year they all will have both, though how competitive they'll be with the new teams remains to be seen.

They will have ECRL for next season--it's been announced.

Why does BRYC not have boys' teams in ECNL RL?? Where does their top team play? I know they are part of FVU but it's not like everyone who was pre ECNL makes that team right? Why don't they have an RL team like other clubs that have an ECNL pathway?

BRYC has 4-5 teams for U11 I think. They are all academy teams, the lowest academy team will take almost all soccer players. Making an academy team is not an issue. But, making the top (pre-ecnl) team is extremely hard to do for any new soccer player.

If you are coming in at U11 or U12, usually (unless your kid went through puberty early and they are big and fast) the new kids start att he bottom and maybe work their way up 1 level each year.

BRYC U10 boys parents were the worst last season. I don't remember which team color. But they were loud and rude the entire game, and talked a lot of shit when they lost "that team got lucky" "we were having such an off day they weren't very good we should have won" etc, like not even quietly.

We’ve had a great experience with them but we also aren’t uber competitive and chasing D1 scholarships, honestly (which is okay if others are!). We wanted more than rec but also not an all consuming culture with no room for other parts of life. The coaches we’ve had are strong but caring and focus really hard on building skills, not just winning at all costs. They also don’t tolerate rude or awful parents or bad behavior from the kids. I don’t think it’s hard to make the team if you can play and your kid is coachable. They do keep the groups together for practices and such but there are clearly defined teams so they’re not just bouncing around from week to week.

Care to elaborate? Which clubs would you consider neighboring? We can't really go any further east due to driving time. It sounds like you think Vienna is better?

Wondering if anyone can provide current insight on the BRYC Elite Academy teams, specifically for U11-U12 boys. Is it hard to make one of these teams if you don't start at BRYC at U9? I understand that BRYC has bridge teams, at least at younger ages. Do kids on bridge teams have a better chance of getting onto an academy team? Also, how are the academy teams handled? Are the teams treated very separately or are the rosters fluid at all? A friend once told me the coaches would move kids around between the three teams, in terms of who would play in which game. Not sure if that's still the case? Is the pre-ECNL team totally separate from the other ones? Thanks for any info.
