+1. NYU in other fields will not deliver superior connections/outcomes so the reason to go there would be if she is an “NYC or bust” type who has been dreaming of living there for her entire life.

NYU is 8% black; UMD is 13% black

UMD honors college will provide an interdisciplinary experience. NYU is pricey. UMD for in state is a great deal.

Any thoughts on UMD honors college or NYU for a student wanting to study data science? DC is deciding between these two.

MD resident, African American, introvert but not shy, close family friends in Manhattan, wants an interdisciplinary experience and will likely minor in a social science (leaning towards economics).
