Have you ever left your tiny podunk town? Do you even live in dc? There are real threats against tourists right now. People are being picked up off the streets and detained. People who are legally trying to enter the country are being illegally locked up - some for weeks, in for-profit prisons paid for by the American tax payer. Even if you’re not worried about the tourists, you should at least be concerned that YOU are footing the prison bill for people who don’t even belong there.

Good, maybe the prices of hotels and rental cars can drop. Going overseas is a much better value than staying in your own country these days.

There have been many, MANY reports of European and Canadian tourists being held in detention by ICE at US airports, sometimes for days or weeks. It's not great for our tourism industry.

It's not hysterical when British, German and French tourists are yelled at by Border Control, turned away, or forced to spend weeks in detention even though their paperwork is perfectly in order!!! There is an official warning from these countries to be very careful if planning travel to the USA. Their citizens are heeding the warnings, as they should.

You need to get out of your media bubble and see the reality on the ground.

My French family is definitely not coming here. We are not leaving the US either, since our jobs and lives are here in DC and we don't want any trouble on our return. All visa-waivers, visa-holders and green card holders are now at risk.

The only internationals who are traveling outside the US right now are doing so for their jobs.

I’m shocked. Trump has been so kind and caring towards our tourists. Even those he locked in solitary confinement for two weeks for no apparent reason. The American taxpayer paid for their food!
