They most definitely ask on the apps.

A number of them ask where you went to grade school too.

Dalton only has a handful of decisions up. >40% are ivies. >50% are ivies + duke.

They always do well. Anecdotally, my friend’s kid who is in top 10% of their school and is unhooked is going to a WASP (Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona) liberal arts school and was shut out of T20 schools.
