As background, part of the reason he came into service was bead social emotional delays that I believe still affects his ability to learn in school. These issues continue to exist especially at home, but he’s fairly well controlled at school.
Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for receiving an independent evaluation and whether I should seek out diagnosis? I suspect he has ADHD but he’s only 5 so I don’t know if he would be diagnosed at this age because he’s also just a young curious boy.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
I would get an advocate as opposed to getting an IEE.
They will observe your child in the classroom, sit with you in the meetings and translate / advocate.
Help you understand options.
Amy Mounce was one we met with (outside of WEG) - did not use as we decided to go private
We were not a fan of the consultant we met with at Weinfeld Education Group - not responsive to deadlines we had. If you do a search on DCUM WEG names will pop up.
I had book marked Monica Martinez (but did not use)

I am sorry that I do not have better leads for you.
