No, dog walker, day care, bring to office, leave at home. My husband is RTO and he brings our dog in 2-3 times a week.

Less dogs = more space for humans on already narrow sidewalks & more space on narrow streets that don't have sidewalks

Sad. Would you like to be locked up all day? Or maybe you are tied in a cubicle or office all day and don't think it's a big deal.

A lot of people who weren't adequately prepared to raise and train good dogs with good manners got "pandemic puppies" and shouldn't have. Post-pandemic, a lot of those dogs got returned (and I think a lot of in-over-their-heads owners were somewhat relieved by it). RTO is going to be another round of people who aren't dedicated dog owners getting out of the game (or out of the way, depending on your perspective). Personally, I'm for it. If you can't afford to properly care for a pet, you should put them with someone who can.

Yep! Out of it or out of the way is exactly it.

People have rehomed theirs after a job loss
Others kept it after a job loss to overcome stress/sadness or for security for their home.

I can see how job Loss could take you down that road though.

We just got a new dog and she's settled in, but we had to hire a walker because she just needs more activity and attention during the day. If I was in the office full-time I probably would've adopted an older dog or a dog that was better on their own during the day. I get it.

Have you after returning to office, or if you lost your job? Will we see fewer dogs out and about now with feds losing jobs?
