A biweekly cleaning woman was a pre-requisite of moving in with my now DH. I swear it has solved and prevented so many arguments and atabed off resentment.

OP here, my wife still frets that we need to pick up more, but we're literally paying the cleaner to do that and they don't mind. Like, you shouldn't leave an intentionally messy house or anything disgusting (unless you genuinely need help for it and then you should pay them accordingly), but the cleaners are much better at organizing shoes, jackets, piles of clutter, etc...

We admitted it but she just really struggled to pull the trigger and was very anxious about it, but they came in and in 90 minutes basically took care of all of our household problems. Even having it once a month or once a season if it’s thought to swing. And, the stress and anxiety I felt always having to play catchup at a game neither of us were good at was worth it. I hated having a cluttered dusty house and it ruined my weekends trying to do what I could here and there and then Monday night sitting down to watch tv and realizing it was at least as bad already because we’re both busy people with two kids and a dog… now $190 2x a month and the house looks gorgeous.

The most expensive thing might be wanting to have people over to entertain.

If only my husband could agree to one!

Well I’m sorry to hear that, obviously you’re excepted, but when things get back on track you should.

I fought my husband for more than 20 years on this one. 6 months ago, I finally agreed. Life changing. It freed up so much of my time. Best $200 spent.

My wife’s excuse for years was that the house was too cluttered and we just needed to declutter it and we could

A)get ahead of the mess
B) talk about a cleaning person

But guess what? They decluttered for us. And magically all our seasonal allergies went away because they were actually dust allergies.

Yes if my family could pick up their crap from surfaces, I’d get one too.
