The US has been very much a cornerstone of W world for decades. It's been good because we've established our leadership, helped us econ, def good to have allies of course. We are the decision makers so that not a bad position.

Its not been so good in that we've had to put out most in most situations whether by way of financial or military support. It's always us who has to get involved and it is also not the most ideal spot to be in when there's conflicts. We are the stop gap and we own the pressures of being a leader.

That's all gone. The good and the bad, it's now just us.

Will it be all good or all bad moving forward? I'm sure will be a mix of both as it's never just one or the other. Militarily and economically, I think it will take history to show the results. Nobody knows the future.

I think the only for sure thing is we've never been here before and we are starting a new chapter of foreign policy. I think it's only observation at this point - we're no longer part of the players aligning for a position in the world order as Trump has taken us out. What we are doing moving forward is relying only on ourselves. It's not a good thing in my mind not to have many friends and words for having made enemies of our friends. That's 100%.

Europe and Canada have already cancelled contracts with US suppliers and are moving to European suppliers.

Europe will re-arm without US equipment and weapon systems. Their needs will be different vs what the US wants to produce. Also the US does not have the capacity. Right now it is a 2-3 year wait for ATACMS and they are dependent on US software updates/satellite guidance. The F-35 is done. It’s 100 million now without Europe it will go north of 300 million per.

Europe plus South Korea and Japan will be able get their defense industries scaled up in 2-3 years. It will take 3-5 years to build up their military. Looks like Europe will be spending around 900 billion per year by themselves while the US will be under 450 million. Europe will buy the US systems until they can make their own. Airbus will love the business.


Though first Poland, Romania, Germany, Sweden, Finland and Ukraine will go nuclear. Sweden and Finland could do it(a deliverable nuclear weapon system) in weeks. Poland and Romania 6-9 months. Germany just needs the fuel and Ukraine has all the former Soviet aerospace and nuclear engineers plus a fuel supply. Bet they work together.

One thing the article does not talk about is Asia. Look for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia to join the Europeans and not buy American. Let’s not forget Canada.
