When Sesame Street began there was very little children's programming available. This was long before videotapes.
I was teaching Title I first graders and remember playing a Sesame Street record to help them learn some things--and the songs were fun.

That has changed. Sesame Street can continue and I doubt funding will be cut. But, it needs to go back to its roots--helping kids learn to read and count. Give the social justice a rest and go back to teaching manners and being considerate to everyone.

She could really benefit from daily Sesame Street, and subscription to highlights magazine.

It’s a show about kindness, so it’s no on par with MAGA/GOP priorities.

They want to privatize everything under the misguided theory that markets don’t ever fail—of course private industry will produce high quality, affordable, educational content that is accessible to everyone, because… there’s so much profit in it.

Anything that might give disadvantaged kids a head start in school is a target for DOGE and MAGA. Early learning is only for the kids of the 1%, otherwise it’s just wasteful to educate future retail workers. (I wish this was snark, but it’s really how they think.)

Yes! Only low IQ people did not think Trump would not come for PBS -- it's PUBLIC television, not Crony television. He's motivated by greed. If he can dismantle it and sell it for parts, he will.
