My understanding is AAP is more stem focused and CES is enrichment of reading.

How's AAP program at Fairfax county compared to CES in Montgomery county? My brother in law tells me how wonderful, lot of work, and competitive (no lottery) their program are starting at 3rd grade. CES does not start till 4th grade. Anyone have both experiences? We both have same age kids, and he likes to compare his child and our child. Both will be 4th graders in the fall. Their child is already in AAP, and mine will be in CES this coming fall. It seems like I lose, lol, because we are one year behind in the program.
